Michael Brown’s adoptive mother said that initially, she wasn’t going to adopt him. But after living with him for some time, she decided to change her plans.

Recently, Michael participated in the foster care education program – a system in which children in need of guardianship temporarily live with foster families, and their support is fully paid by the state.
In February 2015, when the boy was only 18 months old, Tara Montgomery agreed to take care of him, and she has since raised him with her daughters.
As mentioned, adoption was not initially on the table. It was expected that after some time, Michael would be reunited with his biological mother. But in the end, she had her parental rights revoked.
“I am a single mother, and I didn’t consider adoption as an option in the beginning. But Michael changed my plans. I felt like he was part of our family from the very beginning. In the morning, he wakes up, comes to me, and says, ‘Mom, I am so happy,'” Montgomery said in an interview with the Huffington Post.
