Each of us may one day sacrifice ourselves to give life to someone dear to us, each of us is capable of donating an organ at any time if there is a need. Fortunately, we are surrounded by good people.
But how many young and healthy individuals are willing to donate their organs to a stranger?
The mother of one-year-old Buddy Hall faced such a situation.
The child was born with a kidney anomaly.
The child suffers from renal insufficiency, which causes the body to excrete too much protein in the urine. The boy had no chance of staying alive. He urgently needed a transplant.
The boy’s parents didn’t know where to turn. They did everything they could to find a donor for Buddy, but without success. Due to the coronavirus and the postponement of all surgical procedures, they had lost all hope of getting organs in time.
The parents were disappointed, but fortunately, the circumstances took an incredible turn. Taylor, a healthy nurse who learned about the boy’s condition through her sister, decided to give Buddy a second chance. She called the family and informed them that she would be willing to donate a kidney to Buddy.
Both surgeries went well, and shortly after, Buddy’s condition improved for the first time. Taylor also felt good.
It was an unforgettable moment for the family.
The media and the family praised Taylor. But saving the life of the little boy, who will soon be two years old, was a great joy for the woman.
Fortunately, there are people like Taylor who will be by our side when needed.
