A retired teacher gives lessons to a homeless person for two years to help them find a job

Le Pouvoir De L’amour

In the city of Bilbao, an extraordinary bond develops between Cesar de Miguel Santiago, a former teacher and IT employee, and Evans Isibor, a young homeless individual from Nigeria.

Two years ago, Cesar noticed Evans’ difficult situation on the streets and made the decision to help him, thereby changing both of their lives.

Since then, they have turned the streets into their classroom, dedicating at least two hours every day to studying together.

Armed with a chair and textbooks, Cesar teaches Evans various subjects, including Spanish and mathematics, essential for passing exams and improving his life prospects.

Their commitment is unwavering, continuing their lessons even on weekends.

Their presence has become known throughout the city, with residents directing journalists to find them at number 57 or near the bank.

Evans shares his story with Cesar, revealing that he dropped out of school at the age of 13 due to economic difficulties.

Determined to seek better opportunities, he embarked on a dangerous journey through the desert to Algeria and Morocco, before finally reaching Cadiz.

Unfortunately, his attempts to find work were rejected, and he found himself in Bilbao, where he finally met his savior, Cesar.

The language barrier poses a significant challenge for Evans, as Spanish proves difficult for a Nigerian.

However, Cesar’s patience and dedication shine through as he repeatedly explains concepts, helping Evans overcome language difficulties.

Mathematics also presents challenges, as Evans never completed the school curriculum.

Nevertheless, he appreciates the opportunity to learn from scratch and is grateful for Cesar’s unconditional support.
