A homeless man found a wallet and returned it to its owner, who turned out to be a millionaire

Le Pouvoir De L’amour

Thai man named Waralop, who had seen better days in the past, was living under the station sidewalk, doing odd jobs to survive. One day, he spotted a wallet on the platform and decided not to test his karma. He found the owner and returned the lost item. To his surprise, the wallet’s owner was a millionaire who quickly decided to thank the man for his honesty. The wallet itself appeared to be quite expensive and even the amount of money inside was impressive by homeless standards.

Although Waralop had only 9 baht (25 cents) in his pocket, he didn’t hesitate to take the finding to the local police station without even opening it. The police were very surprised by the wallet’s return since the man could have easily kept it for himself, and no one would have found out.

Upon inspecting the wallet, the police counted 20,000 baht ($520) and several bank cards inside a Hermes wallet. It wasn’t difficult for them to locate the owner, who turned out to be a successful young entrepreneur with multiple factories producing metal structures. He was astonished not only that his wallet was returned but also that Waralop, who found it, didn’t take anything from it.

Niity Pongkriangyos, the owner of the wallet, offered Waralop 2,000 baht as a reward for finding it, but the homeless man kindly declined, saying he hadn’t earned it. So, the entrepreneur decided to offer him a different kind of reward. He offered Waralop a job at his factory and provided accommodation in a workers’ hostel, giving him a roof over his head.

Waralop accepted the offer and started working with a monthly salary of 11,000 baht. He proved to be honest and hardworking at the factory, which led Niity to promote him after six months. The story quickly spread through local publications, and the former homeless man became a national hero in Thailand.

Today, he continues to work at the factory and is happy that a simple act of honesty completely changed his life.
