Jay Page’s relatives knew exactly how to make his birthday magical and unforgettable.
Following the holiday tradition, Jay sat with his relatives and loved ones and began opening the gifts one by one.
Taking a rectangular white box with a silver bow, he tried to guess what was inside.
Jay read the congratulatory card, then opened the box and found a sealed envelope underneath.
As soon as Jay pulled out a card from the envelope, he burst into tears. This grown man, usually tough and unyielding, couldn’t hold back his tears.
As a birthday gift, Jay received fully completed adoption papers, requiring only his signature.
Along with his signature, he and his wife were ready to submit them the following Monday, and this meant a lot to Jay.
Jay met Lisa, Celissa’s mother, when they were only 21 years old.
Lisa says that Jay was initially “definitely intimidated” by the prospect of becoming the father of two-year-old Celissa.
A few years ago, the couple discovered that Jay couldn’t have children of his own.
So, as Lisa puts it, the relationship between Jay and Celissa has been “a great blessing” for them.
Since childhood, Jay treated her as his own daughter, teaching her self-defense, swimming, and driving.
Jay wanted to adopt her from the beginning and had been talking about it frequently in recent years. But they always lacked the money or opportunities.
When Celissa turned 18, she lost all hope.
The adoption process is usually exhausting and requires a lot of legal expenses, determination, and perseverance from prospective parents.
But in the end, the effort pays off. Jay was so overwhelmed that he couldn’t stop hugging his daughter.
Later, when he regained some composure, he said to his daughter, “Two things are always on my mind: your adoption and your potential marriage.”
Now that Jay is halfway to realizing his plans, he can be sincerely congratulated!
