Bobby and Kenny McCaughey’s family already had one child, but they wanted more to feel completely fulfilled.
Kenny had been struggling to conceive for a long time due to health issues, so the couple decided to try in vitro fertilization.
They implanted seven embryos in the woman because usually only one would successfully attach.
But then something unexpected happened: every embryo survived.
The seven children were born in 1997. It was truly a miracle. Each baby weighed about 1.5 kilograms at birth.
However, two of them were found to have cerebral palsy, but the children were able to walk and stand up shortly after some operations.
The media became interested in this story, and newspapers started writing about it and producing shows about them.
But there were problems within the family.
Financial difficulties were significant. Fortunately, their neighbors felt sorry for them due to all the attention the story received.
McCaughey started helping anyone in need, both financially and by sending gifts or toys.
Even the current President of the United States got involved. This large family was soon provided with a big house and free food.
Many colleges already expect students to continue their education after high school graduation. It has been 23 years now.
