Laura attributes her love for Shakespeare and her ambition to play the piano to her teacher. These are two extremely significant achievements in themselves.
Laura not only learned to play the piano, but she also holds a master’s degree in piano. Laura claims that she can also write a dissertation, which she doesn’t always manage to do.
However, Miss O’Connell’s beneficial influence on Laura may be much more than what she instilled and provided.
Laura informs Ms. O’Connell that she made her day, but she made her life.
