Little Charlotte was born deaf.
The parents still don’t understand the cause – neither Christy Keane nor her partner have any genetic predisposition to deafness. It is very challenging for the young couple to prepare for such news. But the couple has adapted to it. Their daughter’s destiny is their own.
As Christy mentions, the saddest part is that “she has never heard me tell her how much I prayed for her when she was in my womb, she has never heard me greet her into the world, she will never hear me sing a lullaby to her, and the most difficult thing is that she will never hear me say ‘I adore you’.”
Things have changed recently. Since she is only a few months old, Charly is still too young to receive a cochlear implant, so the specialists have equipped her with hearing aids.
When mommy started addressing the little one, her face lit up.
Then, the mother uttered those three little words: “I love you.”
The little girl’s eyes filled with tears, and it was clear that she understood how much she was loved.
Christy wrote on Facebook, “We had the miraculous moment I was praying for when Char got her hearing aids today. We didn’t think she would hear anything, so it was impossible to describe what we had just experienced!”
She explained on Instagram, “Imagine our surprise and joy when she gave us such a sincere emotion.”
