Melissa McCabe, from Tranmere, Merseyside, was only 15 years old when she gave birth to her son Arthur in November 2020.
Becoming a mother at such a young age, she had to face many prejudices and criticism from people who found her choice “disgusting.”
But Melissa, now 16 years old, has no regrets about her decision. Her life changed when she gave birth during the lockdown, but she embraces motherhood.
Recently, she attended her school’s prom, and she didn’t want to miss the experience, even though she couldn’t find a babysitter for Arthur.
Melissa looked stunning in a blue dress adorned with sparkling crystals, while little Arthur melted hearts in a beige three-piece suit.
The adorable photos captured them posing at home and then at the prom venue.
Melissa said, “When the prom arrived, I couldn’t really leave him out, and I wanted him to be part of my prom day. I ordered him a suit and took him with me. All the teachers said how wonderful he looked.”
Her teachers at school supported her role as a young mother.
After Melissa showcased her outfits on TikTok, the response from strangers was overwhelmingly positive.
Comments like “this is so cute” and “you win the 2022 best mother award” flooded in.
Melissa often shares videos of herself and Arthur on social media.
